Hi there

I'm Vivian!

Previously at

I’m a product designer drawn to the internet as a place to learn, connect and inhabit third spaces. I grew up in the age of the infinite scroll, which left me curious about emerging technology and the strange little ways digital products influence how people behave and understand the world around them.

I’m thoughtful about the work I do and tend to throw myself fully into whatever I’m learning. That same curiosity draws me to products that matter in people’s everyday lives, especially those that help people learn, participate or feel part of something. I want to contribute with enough conviction that my perspective is visible in the outcome.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Interaction Design from the University of Sydney, completing my final semester abroad in 🍙 Tokyo. Whilst doing that, I’ve worked at Canva, where I helped gamify Design School tutorials to make learning more accessible, and at Stan, where I contributed to product experiences for the Paris Olympics.

Outside of design, I play bass, cry over good films, write letters to my future self, go for runs in the cold Sydney mornings, read books that emotionally ruin me and put far too much thought into gifts for the people I love.

What guides my work

What guides my work

The things I care about naturally show up in how I design. They shape the questions I ask, the way I work with people, the communities I show up in and the kind of impact I want my work to have.

🌱

Growth

Stay curious enough to change my mind.

I’m always learning, whether that comes from reading, making, asking questions or getting something wrong the first time. Drop me into a new team and I’ll happily become a 🧽 sponge, absorbing context quickly and figuring out how I can contribute. I ask questions early, seek feedback often and care more about finding the right direction than defending my first idea.

🤝

Connection

Design with people, not at them.

I love people, and I do my best work when they feel comfortable being honest. I listen closely, lead with empathy and communicate clearly, without making collaboration feel stiff or intimidating. Whether I’m working with users, engineers or other designers, I want everyone to understand what we’re solving and feel like they had a real hand in shaping the outcome.

💜

Integrity with compassion

Make decisions I can stand behind.

I think carefully about who a product helps, where it might create friction and who could quietly be left out. I want to make practical decisions that move the product forward without forgetting the people on the other side of the screen. To me, good design should be useful, ethical and thoughtful enough to hold up beyond the happy path.

My Outreach

My Outreach

A lot of what I know about design came from building things with other people. At university, I helped create communities where students could learn, meet industry mentors and feel more confident finding their place in design and technology.
